Human Resource Assistant - LOA Specialist


Initial Assignment Length: 12 months

Shift/Schedule Details: Standard Business Hours

Location Specifics: Hybrid in Kankakee, IL 60915; 1 day per week remote (flexible); 4 days per week onsite

Hourly Pay Rate: $25.00

Job Description:

Supports the sick leave benefit administration for all bargaining unit employees. This includes reviewing/processing all sick leave applications in accordance with company policies and state/federal regulations, ensuring correct data entry into the payroll/attendance system.

Manages short term and long term medical leave in accordance with the Union contract.

Communicates all leave to the appropriate departments. (inc. Security, Training, HR & employees dept),Manage the Kan Medical Inbox to respond to inquiries and process medical forms in a timely manner.

Participates in grievance meetings related to medical leave matters and attends arbitration hearings when an employee is terminated due to medically related absences

Maintains all records-such as medical documentation, absence forms, and doctor's notes-in compliance with PHI and HIPAA regulations.

Supports the Wellbeing committee in Kankakee with monthly site-wide initiatives.

Assists with special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Global Benefits team, as needed

Minimum Required Qualifications:

HS Diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a customer/employee facing role

Must be competent using Microsoft applications (incl Excel, Power Point, Word etc)

Preferred / Nice to Have Qualifications:

Bachelors or Associates degree in related field preferred

WorkDay knowledge a plus
